Parts of this book are very difficult to read - very well-written but heart-wrenching. I honestly read this book in less than three hours. I can't wait to read her new book, The Eye Unseen.
I'm not her target audience but I have to say, she has a great style, realistic character development, and tight plotting. Very enjoyable, and well done!
This was a dark and twisted tale, and I mean that purely as a compliment. It's a story about the downward spiral of a woman that has overcome so much in her life, only to watch it slip away at the hands of a little girl that is also suffering her own undeserved fate. The details and descriptions were absolutely amazing and there were several moments when I thought "wow, I didn't see that coming". I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to get inside the mind of a truly tortured soul.
What an intense ride. The story was riveting the physiological decent into what, madness, acceptance was believable. I felt for this family the Mother and child a product of similar abuses with totally different physiological out comes.
I look forward to reading more from this author.
This story had me hooked from the very beginning. As soon as I heard about it being released I bought it, and put my other books aside to read it! I am impressed with the authors ability to make the reader feel like they are witnessing the story play out. Its a dark and sad story that speaks about the dark side of a family. Secrets and details that would otherwise be kept away from the ears of others. I really appreciate the truth of the story and the confidence to NOT hold back! Great story.
Started reading and couldn't put it down. Excellent book. I can't wait to read the next book by this author!!
This was a quick read because the story grabs you. It's raw and terrifying. It's sad and shocking. It's numbing and horrifying. It made me tremble.
